One of the most cliché camp terms you’ll hear is living ’10 for 2.’ This means living 10 months of the year, waiting, longing, yearning for those 2 months where we get to be at our favourite place on earth; camp. With Christmas just around the corner, camp counselors around the world are wishing for many wonderful things. Here at the CCUSA office in Leeds, we think we may know 1 or 2 things that will be appearing on most camp counselors letters to Santa.
THE NEXT 5 MONTHS TO HURRY UP!
Is it June yet? Camp Counselors really want these next 5 months to hurry up! Their world revolves around summer camp! Think sunshine, waterfront, camping trips, Walmart and dancing on tables at breakfast. Hold tight friends, camp will be here before you know it.
CAMP FRIENDS TO VISIT
Camp friends are best friends. Period. No arguments. Full stop. Maybe you’ve known them your whole life, but it’s more likely that they live on the other side of the world and you’ve only spent 8 weeks with them at camp. Doesn’t matter, they’re your bestie! Why won’t they just hop on a plane and visit you at Christmas?
TRAIN TICKETS TO LEEDS OR LONDON FOR THE CCUSA JOB FAIRS
It’s going to THE summer camp event of year! You do not want to miss out on this. Nearly 40 American and Canadian summer camps are flying to the UK, wanting to hire brand new camp counselors on the spot in January! Can you imagine the sheer look of excitement when you tell your parents all you want for Christmas is a cheap train ticket to Leeds or London to gain employment? Best son/daughter award goes to you, congrats! *Job fair details at the bottom of this blog
A 'SUMMER CAMP’ DAY OFF
Whether you’re a student and your days off are spent in the pub or you’re a full time worker and your time off is spent doing the food shop, nothing compares to a ‘summer camp day off.’ CCUSA Camp Counselors all around the world are waiting patiently for their 1st day off. Chicago? Milwaukee? New York? Boston? Philadelphia? Let’s pack as many of us into a hotel room as we can and eat lots of burgers and fries. That’s got to be top of some people’s lists?
LO. HE. HA. (LOVE, HEALTH AND HAPPINESS)
Camp Counselors are amongst the kindest, most interesting and thoughtful people in the world and they want to spread their love with everyone. It’s not about receiving, it’s about giving. They want to see their camp kids smiling in photos all the way from the USA. They want fellow counselors to feel good about themselves this time of the year. But most of all, they just want everyone to be as happy as possible. It’s a camp thing, and who wouldn’t want to be a camp counselor?
